Our Beliefs
…Men and brethren, what must I do to be saved?
Many people would have you believe all you have to do to be saved, is “let Jesus come into your heart”. The Bible teaches there is more to salvation than just letting Jesus come into our heart. Read the scripture’s listed below, God’s word describes the steps we must complete.
Steps of Salvation
- Hear the gospel, Romans 10:17
- Believe the gospel, Mark 16:16; Hebrews 11:6; Romans 10:9-10
- Repent from sin, Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; Luke 13:3
- Confess Jesus as the Christ, the son of God, Matthew 10:32; Acts 22:16
- Be Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, Matthew 28:18; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16
After submitting in obedience to the terms Jesus has set forth in the New Testament, which is his gospel, you have put on Christ, therefore becoming a Christian. Galatians 3:26-27.
What happens after becoming a Christian, if you sin?
- You must repent of those sins, Acts 8:22
- Confess those sins, 1 John 1:8
- Pray for God’s forgiveness, James 5:16; Acts 8:22
- We must all strive to live faithful each day, but we all sin and fall short of his glory. We must ask for forgiveness for those sins. However, we cannot sin willfully expecting to ask for forgiveness.
