Our Elders

"Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood" (Acts 20:28).

"I exhort the elders among you... shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God... proving to be examples to the flock" (1 Peter 5:1-3).

We are blessed to have Larry Goddard and Junior Messner as our elders at Nashua. In the New Testament, elders are described as men who serve as spiritual overseers and shepherds. They are chosen by the congregation based on their proven character, ability, life experience, influence, etc., as God instructs (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).

As spiritual shepherds, our elders are responsible for giving us instruction, offering spiritual guidance, protecting the church from evil influences, and modeling godliness in their own lives. We are grateful to have Larry, Junior, and Phil leading us, and we honor them for the work they do.
